S.A.F.E (Safety Advice For Everyone) Series

S.A.F.E (Safety Advice For Everyone), is the name I have given to my S.A.S (Safety Article Series). I will be posting weekly articles for this series. My articles will be based on different areas of self-defence, situational awareness, personal security and of course, safety.

I am an enthusiast in these subjects and actively apply all of what shall be shared. Most of which will be prevention tips, observations and reminders applicable to all who reads them – regardless of who you are, where you are and/or interest in the subjects.

So, what’s the big deal? Why bother writing safety articles?

The answer is simple. To enlighten everyone and anyone who cares to read. I am sure you have heard the following: ‘be the change you wish to see'. As I would like to see more light shed on the topics of personal security and awareness, I have decided to light the first few candles and discuss said topics myself through a series of articles. Subjects on personal security, self-defence and situational awareness are not taught in mainstream schools, colleges or universities – therefore it is left for us to educate ourselves.

Please note, I am not expert on the topic of self-defence, I am just an ordinary guy writing about what is of interest to me, and quite frankly should be of interest to everyone. So, why bother writing safety articles? The answer is simple. Self-defence as a concept is much more than defending yourself against an attack from another person or persons. Instead, it is more about actively taking measures to prevent such attacks or violence happening in the first place.

If you take anything away from what you have read thus far, let it be the following. Preventing and/or avoiding a situation is much more effective than handling a situation. Read a little about health and dieting, you will be more aware of your food consumption. Read a little about personal security and self-defence, you will be more aware of your surroundings.

Trust me, being 'a little' more aware of your surroundings could come in handy one day.

Unfortunately, many of the subjects I will discuss are overlooked by many who often times are also oblivious to how they make themselves appear vulnerable and easy targets. Creating this series is my attempt of bringing such topics to their attention.

Thank you for reading!

Stay safe. Stay blessed. Work hard. Don't stress.
